No, that’s not a reference to masturbation (though, I supposed it could work in that scenario, too)…I’m talking about congratulating yourself on a job well done.
As I’ve posted before, I’m heading off on vacation after today. So, I wanted to tie up all of the loose ends before I leave. As of yesterday afternoon, I’ve finished quite a few short-term and long-term projects I’ve been working on. I published 2 papers for the research program I work for and I cleared stacks of stuff off my desk (both short term). More important though, I passed a major hurdle in creating a website for my boss.
I’ve been maintaining a website for my other boss for the past year or two. My other boss (who I actually do more work for) asked me to create one for him, too. The template was designed by our computer people – but the content was all up to me. So, I’ve been compiling 35 years worth of articles and books to post on line. This involved on-line research, file cabinet searching, library searching, photo-copying and scanning from paper to pdf. After doing that, I’ve been writing it all up in html (which took forever because I’ve only taken a few training sessions in html). Anyway, yesterday afternoon I finished the content. Now all that’s left is to confirm I wrote it all up right and that the hundreds of links work (35 years worth!!!!!) That’s the next hurdle. But I hope to complete that between when I get back from next week’s vacation and my late-July vacation in Provincetown (two weeks later).
So, in conclusion…HOORAY FOR ME!

I know we talked about it last night, but I am still amazed that you were able to complete that HUGE task in such a short time! That is the sort of project that would send many of us to the nearest rock to seek shelter!

Dusty and I have been playing for an hour or so. I am about to have lunch, feed her and then I am off for my meeting with Isabelle!
Congratulations on being so productive. I, on the other hand, haven’t accomplished a fucking thing today. I’m pretty proud of myself as well.
