Sometimes the Good And the Bad Win

First, here are a few pictures from last weekend in Ptown:

I could include group photos of my other friends (Heath, John and Chris) but I promised them they’d have the opportunity to review them first.

I finally got to see the conclusion of my latest TV addiction: Popularity Contest. The contestant I wanted to win actually did win. To be honest, I’d have been content with either Alex (the baseball scout) or Rory (the chef) winning. But my preference was for Alex – mostly because I thought he’d fit in better within the community. In this case, I think the right person won.

Now, I’m assuming everybody and their mother with a blog is going to write about Michael Jackson today so here’s my two cents worth on this one. I’m not suprised the jury found him innocent. I’ve been a juror on a murder trial before and, to be honest, I don’t see how anybody can be found guilty of anything unless they actually admit to being guilty. Otherwise, you can only base your decision on reasonable doubt. And, quite frankly, there’s always that chance that somebody was lying on the stand. In Jackson’s case, there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s “eccentric” (the polite way of saying he’s mentally and developmentally stunted). Unfortunately (of fortunately), that isn’t reason enough to convict him of those charges.

I honestly can’t say whether I believe he was guilty or not. But I do think the victim’s mother is most definitely guilty of trying to take advantage of Jackson’s wealth and that Michael Jackson desperately needs some psychiatric help.

That said, I’m relieved that within a few days the media will stop harping on this damn story. I’m sure they won’t focus on any real news (Katie Holmes is considering Scientology, blah, blah, blah), but at least this one will die down. He won his case, let’s move on.

I’m with you on the Jacko business. I didn’t even watch TV past like 4:30 yesterday, and didn’t turn it on at all this morning…Just don’t want to hear it all rehashed.

I cannot believe Katie Holmes found her way onto your blog. Is there no escaping this child-woman and the ridiculously vapid furor that has surrounded her? Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
