Happy Birthday Cake To You!

It’s my one year anniversary of blogging (the heading for today’s posting is in reference to the old Eldo Cake House sign in Boston’s Chinatown – I believe the’ve replaced it)!

So much has happened in the past year – some good, some bad. I settled into a new condo, Matt’s brother was living with us, I got a dog, my niece has been in and out of the hospital, I’ve met some amazing friends on-line that have developed into fabulous face-to-face/real-life friendships (as well as other on-line friends that I plan to meet in the near future), I know three people that have fought breast cancer (the one I was closest with actually died), I’ve gone through the break up of a 10-year relationship, I’ve sold a condo, I’ve moved to an apartment on my own, I’ve gone on multiple vacations to Provincetown, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, New York City, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, I’ve started dating again, I’ve lost some weight, I’ve gained some weight, I’ve had my first cold in two years and I’ve lost more hair on my head (and gained some in places I’d rather not mention).

In celebration of my blogging birthday, and since nobody seemed to have an opinion on a specific picture to replace the one on the right, I shall celebrate this event instead by posting the following link:

I’m not a Kiss fan (particularly disco Kiss), but this clip just made me laugh. I mean, how can you not love a roly-poly effeminate bear of a man lip-syncing to a Kiss song? Be sure to watch it through the end to appreciate all of the hand gestures, lip-pursing and suprise guitar-playing! He made me happy, in a perverse sort of way, and so it felt like the perfect way to celebrate my day.

Enjoy.

Karl, Happy first birthday to your blog! Congratulations! I just want you to know that your blog has become an integral part of my life! It is the first website I check every morning when I get to work (of course that may be due to the fact that your blog starts with an “A” and is therefore placed at the top of my favorites list, but that’s beside the point…) Your blog makes me laugh and think of you and that makes me smile! I’m so glad we’re friends! Keep blogging!

Hey, Salina! That’s precisely why I gave this blog that title! I wanted it to appear at the beginning of any and all lists! LOL

Thanks for reading! And good luck in the 1/2 marathon this weekend!

Happy birthday Adventures in Gastronomy!! Now please tell your writer that it’s time for us to have another adventure in gastronomy so I can congratulate him in person.
