I Feel Love

I think that’s my favorite Donna Summer song. It’s so ahead of it’s time – yet so simple. I mean, it’s essentially a synthersizer and one lyric repeated for 6 minutes – which by any other artist (MC Hammer’s ‘Can’t Touch This’, for example) would annoy the shit out of me. But this is one of those songs I could put on my discman, press the repeat option, and listen to over and over for hours. Other songs that qualify for that honor are ‘Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ (Simon and Garfunkel) and ‘Angel’ (Massive Attack).

Anyway, today I used “I Feel Love” as my heading because my cyber-neglect has spawned a positive reaction from my readers. I didn’t post anything over the weekend because we were busy on Friday and Saturday, and then I was resting on Sunday to fight my annoying cold. I didn’t update it Monday out of pure laziness.

But during that time, I’ve received instant messages and emails from quite a few people saying they’re missing their daily Karl-fix. Apparently, I’m addictive…like caffeine or heroin! Who needs methodone clinics? Heroin addicts just need to get internet connections from now on – I’m here to help and to share the love!

I was wondering where you two were. I was ready to send an e-mail this morning. After the quiet departure of Homoesque’s blog, I was afraid something had happened.

I just started reading you about a month ago, so I’m not completely hooked yet. I can still stop any time I want to. Really. I can. It’s just that I don’t want to. Yes, that’s it, I just don’t want to.

Like catnip! heh! Leave you were busy, I think I’m just being lazy. I think IFL is my fave classic disco song. Dunno why… You’re right, it was way ahead of its time. It puts me in a trance… and at such an early age too way back then! heh!

Have you hear Nomi’s live version of I Feel Love? I had this up 2mos ago.

I have always thought you were addictive, baby. I have not hear Nomi’s live version of I Feel Love, but I did see Patti Smith Group perform it on some late night TV show when I was a kid. …Unless it was a drug-induced dream or something. When discussing my way-off youth, one never really knows.
