Oh, Have I Told You Abou….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That heading pretty much sums up last night. As those of you who know me know, I’m not a night person. I’m a man of routine and any fluctuation in that routine screws up my system. Well, my system has been completely out of whack since we saw Oklahoma on Tuesday night.

We didn’t get home until midnight, and then I was too wired to fall asleep immediately. And since I still had to get up at 6:30 a.m. for work on Wednesday, I only got 4-5 hours of sleep. I had the worst time getting up yesterday morning and decided that I’d go to be early last night to catch up.

To guarantee a good night sleep I took a dose of Matt’s (over-the-counter*) sleeping pills around 9:00 p.m. last night. I then washed a few dishes and retired to the bedroom. The rest is history. I slept very soundly for over 9 hours, but still felt exhausted when I woke up. ARGH!

Anyway, there’s a rumor that the sun will appear today (we’ve not had any sunshine in over a week). And this holiday weekend is supposed to be beautiful – hopefully I won’t sleep through it.

*Why are over-the-counter drugs ones that you get without actually having to go “over-the-counter” of the pharmacy to get? Shouldn’t prescriptions be called over-the-counter instead?

I think I just saw a few rays here in Boston…we might just actually get to see it today

Sleeping pills suck. I tried them (OTC) when I was having insomnia last year and they made me sleep a ton, but I woke up feeling completely unrested and with the chills. I have had some success with Valerian, but I hear now that that’s not as healthy as people used to think, so I’m not trying it anymore. But then I sleep better now.

I love pills of all sorts and sizes, but my most favorite type of pills are the ones that make me sleepy.
