Squeak for BeOS resurrected?
Been following the Japanese mailing list on Squeak and some postings on a bulletin board about Squeak for BeOS. Is it making a comeback?

Another OreillyNet article strikes again… This one summarizing the brainchild behind Rendezvous going to FooCamp which must have been some sort of Oreilly geek conference (Sheesh one of these days I’ll dig up the cash to make it to one of these conferences) and trying to give a talk on Basic Rendezvous and getting trumped […]
Got this story from Slashdot. One thing interesting about the account is how frank Gabe Newell the spokesperson on this incident for Valve has been. Personally it annoys me that people are DoSing and trying to steal secrets from a game company. Is there new game engine THAT precious to do all this? Sounds more […]
Got this link one from Slashdot. Seems some researchers have been able to refine the electronic paper technology to display moving pictures hence movies are possible. That’s really cool however… I’ve been waiting some time now for these e-paper ideas to actually hit the street for the consumer. Moving pictures is cool and all but […]
I was talking with a friend of mine about classic video games and he brought up E.T. (I date myself by uttering that game) as being one of the ‘worst games ever’. Considering I actually derived some entertainment and PLAYED E.T. and made progress on it I disagreed. I found one of the most opaque […]
Neal Stephenson launches a Wiki to explain his new novel Quicksilver. Very cool. Neal Stephenson + Wiki = Very Cool
Lots of good things have happened since I wrote Making Movies with the iSight, in which I explained how to use QuickTime Broadcaster with Apple’s new webcam. In this article I’ll show you new iSight video tricks and easier ways to make movies than with Broadcaster. [O’Reilly MacDevCenter.com] I want an iSight now…
Do you want to control your Mac, or one that you’re responsible for, from a remote location? If you’re running Mac OS X, you can take advantage of a variety of built-in Unix and AppleScript tools to control your computer from afar. Harold Martin shows you how. [O’Reilly MacDevCenter.com]
The horrors! Getting booted from a store for whipping out a Tablet PC and fiddling around with it. Gee, if you’re THAT bored waiting for someone why not go outside the store and fiddle with the thing? I like geeking out but I certainly feel like an idiot whipping out a PDA or some hi-tech […]
This type of stuff is really cool. The story is someone did a rebuild of the Apple I and tried contacting Apple about information if he could sell the replicas. They never responded. The person then went to Woz and asked Woz’s permission. Survey says: Thumbs Up! Way cool! I always thought Woz was the […]
Just heard some rumblings about the ElastoLab Physics Engine being Open Sourced under the MIT license. I’ve not actually had time to sit down and work with the engine at all but it looks like a really neat way to help explore physics.
There’s an article describing a really neat approach to copyright for superhero figures. Basically the idea is put her in the Public Domain. If Copyright Law hadn’t been extended (yet again) Disney’s well known rodent known as Mickey actually would have been in the public domain allowing anyone to make derivative works. However, the latest […]
Found a link to DHTML version of the classic game Lemmings. This is really neat. And even cooler is that the code is under the GPL (I think) From Cheah Chu Yeow’s Weblog
Gamespot reviews Real Life as a Game.
Yet another story where nature proves is more creative than man in coming up with innovative solutions to life’s problems. This one has some really interesting implications for the Fiber Optics industry. Courtesy of “Slashdot”
