I may be old, but I’m no dummy!

That’s basically what Sneakers told us on Friday. As mentioned previously (click on title to read original message), we’d blocked the stairwell in an attempt at keeping her from going downstairs. Well, when I couldn’t find her on Friday, I decided to check downstairs and guess what!?!? Yup – there was Sneakers sitting smack in the middle of the downstairs carpet looking up at me as if to say “Did you REALLY think that was going to work all winter?”

Oh, well. Back to the drawing board on that one….

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! This is my absolute favorite holiday! For the past many years, hubby and I have stayed home for Thanksgiving and here is how I anticipate my day going:

Wake up around 9 and pop the pie in the oven. Go downstairs and watch a movie on the big screen TV. Go upstairs and make stuffing. Remove pie from oven. Stuff Tom turkey and place in oven. Light fire in fireplace and lounge on sofa watching movies and/or football. Prepare side dishes to go with said turkey. Lounge on couch and watch more movies/football while waiting for dinner to be ready. Eat said turkey. Lounge on couch watching more movies/football. Go to bed.

Can it possibly get any better than that?

Have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Here I am!

No, I haven’t left town – at least not yet! I didn’t have the chance to update that I was on vacation last week. It was a wonderful vacation. What did I do? Nothing! Oh, no, sorry. What did I do? I lounged on the couch for the majority of it! As I said, it was a wonderful vacation!

I returned to the office on Monday and things have been completely chaotic since I got here. There was a change in administrative support while I was gone so our other support person left on Tuesday and the new person won’t start until 11/28. I’m looking forward to having this new person come on board however, it’s going to make for some hectic days ahead with the training and all. Please cross your fingers and toes that this person is as good as she interviewed!

I am happy to report that I did make progress with my digital camera while I was away. I finally hooked it up to my computer and, low and behold, iPhoto automatically opened and all I had to do was import the pictures (just as one of my techie friends had predicted!). Technology really is a beautiful thing – I should learn more about it! Of course, now I have to figure out how to get said photos out of iPhoto and onto my blog or make them email-able but come on now, one thing at a time – I don’t want to overwhelm this non-technical brain with too much at once!

I am really, really, really glad that it is Friday. I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend!

WHDH- how could you?

What a night of sad news. Theo Epstein has walked away from our beloved Red Sox. A question, though, what was WHDH thinking?

Breaking news:

Theo Epstein Resigns.

“Oh, no!” I say. “Theo resigned from the Red Sox!”.

“No, Mary” I’m told. “He’s resigned with the Red Sox!”

“Phew!” I say. “Then how do you spell resigned?”

“I’m not sure but it’s okay. He resigned.”

(Mary breathing again, relieved.)

Five minutes later, WHDH, again with breaking news.

Theo Epstein Quits

“See!” I say. “Theo resigned from the Red Sox!”

This is one of those times where I wish I was wrong.

Bye-bye, Theo. Thanks for the memories!
