Mommy, Why Does Santa Have No Clothes?

A
startling sight met Christmas shoppers on stylish Newbury Street in downtown
Boston yesterday. In a budding if non-traditional tradition, a scantily
clad squadron of Santas were racing down the street in the 5th Annual
Speedo
Santa
Run for Charity.

This year’s run attracted over 150 chilly Kris Kringles
in 30-degree weather, and raised more than $20,000, although it almost
never got off the mark. Organizing tavern Daily Buchanan’s was cited mere
hours before the race for lacking a public events permit for the charity
event, which has doubled in size every year since it began in 2000 with
4 Santas.

No word on how perplexed parents explained the sight to
equally perplexed tots.  How about "Santa’s helpers are trying to lose
some weight"?
