Derek Ramsey, Daniel Mayer, Bryan Derksen, Seth Ilys, Charles Matthews, and Stacey Greenstein
were all featured in today’s Wired News article on Wikipedia, as six of
the most prolific and active [English] contributors. Still no
thoughts on the rest of the world, nor really a recognition that it
exists. Charming profiles, though.
Hiya sj! Thanks for calling me charming! Oh wait… *grins*
I wish that Daniel had put in the full quote on maturation:
In many ways [Wikipedia] represents the best of the possibilities in the post-hacker-manifesto world. I’d guess that a number of Wikipedians grew up after or came of age around the time of the hacker manifesto, and the concept of “freedom to do as we please” has finally begun its maturation to “responsible to do what we need”.
