More Sick, No Progress

ø

A weekend and a Monday of cold-induced malaise and a complete lack of progress. The only thing I’ve done is read—everything I came across relating to diatom evolution. But it hasn’t been particularly rewarding. There is much discussion of phylogenetic relationships and some of the characters relevant to that, but almost nothing about any possible functional or ecological correlates. What a nightmare. In any case, I haven’t felt the energy or focus of mind to put much effort behind it. Now that the project is split into two I’m feeling pretty well overwhelmed by the task of figuring out what the thread is going to be that will tie it all together.
