Honeybee Tea

On Tuesday September 24, the Ernst Mayr Library hosted a Honeybee Tea party, continuing the theme of Bee Day at Harvard, which was held on September 10. Students and staff from the OEB and MCB departments joined library staff from across campus for tea and honey-themed treats. Special Collections displayed a “flash exhibit” for the occasion, featuring books on bees and beekeeping. Entomological works on bees with beautiful color plates shared the spotlight with illustrations of nineteenth century beekeepers and  their apparatus.   Modern books on bees and honey were displayed for browsing in the Reference Room.   Many thanks go to the librarians from Widener and Lamont who brought tea and teapots for the refreshments.  They welcome all library staff to their biweekly tea on Tuesday afternoons at the Widener Café.
