Traffic Jam

On my home from work yesterday evening, I got stuck in a one hour traffic jam where all cars on the highway didn’t move, they were parked and the ignitions turned off!  I saw a big black plume of smoke up ahead so I knew something bad had happened.  I dialed *1 (smart traffic) on my cellphone and the message stated that a truck had run over a car.  I hope no one got hurt; I didn’t see any ambulances go by.   After 30 minutes of sitting around, I moved my car to the side of the road and walked up to the emergency site (about 1/2 mile).  For being inconvenienced, the other people seemed to be in very good moods.  People were chatting with their impomptu neighbors, some were sitting on their cars.  Kids were sitting on the roofs of their cars.  I saw lots of cute little doggies and one great big german shepard that barked at me.  TV traffic helicopters circled above and lots of people were waving at them just in case they were in the limelight.   Just as I was approaching the crash site, the highway patrol opened up the leftmost lane for traffic.  I hightailed it back to my car and got back on the highway.  In any case, it definitely broke up the monotony of driving home.
