I’m a virus!

Wacko Catholics in Spain declare that gays are tantamount to viruses in society.

Now I can study myself!  (In case you don’t know, I study the politics of epidemics.)

The virus analogy strikes me as extraordinary lame. Divorce, not gay marriage, seems like something that one could arguably claim would have an effect like a virus. One heterosexual couple divorces, and then you have two single ex-spouses. Those persons are then free to “infiltrate” and “infect” other persons, breaking up other stable marriages in the process, etc. However, with gay marriage, the virus analogy totally breaks down.

Precisely right, Joe. But the extreme Roman Catholic right has never been too high on logical coherence (kind of like extremists everywhere).
