Interviewer: Was your father in the Resistance in Germany?
Zaidenstadt: No, he was a dues-paying member of the NSDAP – the Nazi party. He was unemployed at the time, and he had to join the Party so that he could get a job. It was like that for a lot of people.

SZ: War Ihr Vater im Widerstand?
Zaidenstadt: Nein, der war zahlendes Parteimitglied der NSDAP. Da musste er reingehen, damit er 1936 als Arbeitsloser überhaupt Arbeit bekam. So ging es sehr vielen Leuten.
