Claudia Peus says, ‘Things are discussed more openly here, and even the most famous professors answer every e-mail from their doctoral candidates or post-docs within twenty-four hours. ‘At German universities you frequently get no answer at all; you often have to start by seeing the professor first.”

„Viele fühlen sich in ihrer neuen akademischen Heimat ernster genommen und besser behandelt. ‚Hier wird offener diskutiert, und auch der berühmteste Professor beantwortet jede Mail seiner Doktoranden oder Postdocs in einem Tag’, sagt Claudia Peus: ‚An deutschen Unis bekommt man häufig gar keine Antwort, da fängt der Mensch oft erst mit dem Professor an’.”
