I don’t get it. A bratwurst is a sausage that is beloved in Wisconsin and other places where people of German heritage live. What does that have to do with orphanages, trailer parks or day-care centers? Are you advocating cannibalism? Shame on you.
Oh, gosh, I guess we are the ones who didn’t get it. Guess we’ve got Hansel and Gretel on the brain…..
I understood it immediately and so should you have, were you the real Bucky Badger, Bucky.
Some people in Wisconsin pronounce the name of that German sausage so that it rhymes with rats–the same pronunciation as what some people call certain young children.
Go to Madison, ask around for State Street “brahts,” and see how many people snicker at your questions.
I may be a cheesehead but of course I understood that part. What I could not understand was the Dowbrigade trying to make humor out of such a delicious food and important tradition. Believe all us Badgers and freedom-loving people need to join together to fight this kind of ignotance. Here is some info for all you others out there http://www.bratwurstpages.com/. Dowbrigade, I suggest you read carefully.
Yes, today the bratwurst. Perhaps tomorrow the keilbasa. Who knows where this can lead? All sausage loving people need to immediately begin boycotting the Dowbrigarde News until we receive a firm and total apology. What do you want us to do Mr. Dowbrigade? Turn vegetarian?
All I can say is one whiff of mention about my pork sausages and this is war.
Also, is it just me or is that girl hot? Nothing like stuffing down 35 brats to put a glow onto ones face. She be fine. You also know she is the real deal in that Johnsonville hat. Must have begun training at a young age. Now thats talent!
Ever since I read thais posting I’ve been wondering what I would have done 40 or 50 years ago if I’d heard there was someone out there collecting brats. Would I have asked them to be at the local school parking lot at midnight and ask for the oldest brat who would then have offered himself up along with his sibllings. Oh, perish that thought! Then there would have been no Dowbrigade. MOM
