I’m leaving today for two weeks of vacation. Since the only person who checks this site daily is coming with me, I doubt many will miss me. But here’s a name post just in case:
From The NYT:
Dick Pound, a Canadian member of the I.O.C. and a supporter of the Vancouver bid, said, “You’d think it’s in the best interest of the Europeans to support a North American bid for 2010 to minimize the impact of a North American winning in 2012”
Now, I don’t understand why anyone chooses (or bestows on their child) Dick over any other shortening of Richard, but it should be avoided at all costs when you have a vaguely sexual sounding last name. Dick Pound is right up there with Laconia, NH (my hometown) favorite son and congressman, wait for it, Dick Swett.
And now all the Dicks are blocked by porn filtering software in schools and public libraries. Sorry kids, you can forget about researching that project on esteemed former house majority leader, Dick Armey. He’s off limits.

I’m sure my title prevents people from accessing this site from public libraries.

Blow up.

Fill.

Enjoy.

I obviously tempted the internet gods, because ten days after I posted about the unwavering position of the kitty in the window, he has disappeared. Was the kitty waiting for recognition of his importance before leaving my world, and signalling to me that I’m ready for change? Or is my weblog doomed to irrelevance?
