Participation Expectations

T509- Massive: Online Network Participation Rubric (Bobbi Kezirian) Personal Compass:

1)   I want to push myself outside of my comfort zone by blogging and tweeting. I especially want to immerse myself in the T-509 Massive online community, but also in the broader educational community that is present on Twitter.

2)   Not only do I want to use new online tools (or new to me online tools), but more importantly, I want to find new ways to enhance my instruction for when I return to the classroom. There are several extremely beneficial blogs and people of Twitter who are high school or middle school social studies teachers. Following these individuals and gathering wonderful tips and ideas will be extremely helpful when I start planning a new set of curriculum.

3)   I would like to participate in a MOOC. I recently signed up for the CS-50 MOOC through HarvardX and would like to complete it by the end of the year.

Participation Commitments: I would like to be present on Twitter daily, but post twice a week. In addition, I would like to blog at least two times a month, but more importantly I want to read and comment on my fellow T-509 classmates’ blogs weekly. Although these are all numerical goals, I am determined to make the posts significant and a true part of my learning experience.
