Undecideds were really undecided in IA, NH

Taken together, Democratic voters in Iowa and New Hampshire sent a single message: let the contest continue between the party’s front runners. Had Hillary won Iowa, she would have become almost unstoppable. But with an Iowa win in his pocket, an Obama victory in New Hampshire might have wrapped up the campaign as well.

A solid plurality of voters walking into the Democratic polls yesterday remained torn. If they’re truly undecided, the smart thing to do would be to vote for the alleged underdog — Hillary Clinton — to keep the race alive. (That her campaign managed to convince the media and public that she was handicapped demonstrates a major PR coup).

The early primaries/caucuses are not so much about securing winners as eliminating the weak. Let the contest continue (though may Obama win!).
