Gimp

Gimp is a great image editing program for the more advanced user, and should meet almost any need you may have. It is available for most computer platforms, and it’s completely free. Gimp allows you to edit and change colors in photos, resize, crop, work with layers, use different brushes and filters, add special effects, and has a variety of selection and masking tools to improve your photos. If you’ve never used an advanced image editor (like Adobe Photoshop) before, Gimp can be overwhelming to learn how to use without any guidance. Once learned, however, Gimp will be a very useful tool to have for image editing. Users familiar with Photoshop should be able to use Gimp with ease, as many of its features are similar to those of Photoshop. The Gimp Web site offers tutorials for users of all levels to learn how to get the most out of the program and its features.
