I am an applied mathematician at Harvard University.  I work as an Associate Director of Undergraduate Studies and a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics in the Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Recent research with Mary Silber and Punit Gandhi is exploring pattern formation mechanisms in the context of patterned vegetation.  This image of vegetation arcs in the Somali Haud is via google maps. 

Other interests include mosquito flight, the mathematics of Planet Earth, effective mathematical education techniques, and the role of social identity in the mathematics classroom.
