Harvard vs Yale (ice hockey)
Nov 19th, 2005 by shihjern
Today was a momentous day for me. I attended my first sports tournamenet ever! Harvard was up against Yale (our arch-rvals!) in ice hockey. I decided to attend for three reasons:
- I can actually ice-skate (well enough to go around in circles without holding anything or falling down), so I thought ice hockey would be interesting to watch.
- Harvard was playing against Yale.
- I have never been anywhere near our supposedly outstanding sports facilities, so I was curious to have a look.
It was quite an amazing experience for me. For the first time, I realised how sports can actually be quite interesting and emotionally charged! I really enjoyed it and regretted the fact that I ignored sports (even treating it with some disdain) throughout my childhood and probably my undergraduate life in England.
And the best part – of course, Harvard won. 🙂
