About the Author

Neel Shah is a joint degree candidate in medicine and public policy at Brown Medical School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government respectively.

He previously served as a student fellow at the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy at Harvard Law School, where he contributed scholarship on the impact of legal challenges posed by health information technology on medical practice. He was also the inaugural Elliot Stone Fellow at the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium.

Neel is currently helping launch a social venture called Costs of Care, aimed at driving a paradigm shift in medical decision-making towards cost-awareness. He will begin residency training this July.
