Click “LEARN MORE” to test drive! This learning experience was built from a Department of Defense job aid document on ADDIE instructional design best practices. It began as a text PowerPoint that originally lacked any interactivity or multimedia elements. It was adapted to provide an engaging learning experience and show the potential to turn any knowledge document into a similarly compelling, self-paced, and interactive user experience.

The ProblemNeeding to increase employee retention and engagement, company executives mandated a completely new employee mentor program to be created–along with mentor training and support programming. The SolutionAfter careful analysis with various stakeholders in company and research on employee mentoring best practices, I created the company-wide “Navigators” mentoring program. The program focused on developing the supervisors’ and senior staff’s knowledge, skills, and abilities to welcome and integrate new employees into their departments and the wider organization. The outcome of this is smoother starts, faster ramp up in productivity, and increased job satisfaction and employee retention. |
The ProcessFinally, the evaluation phase consisted of designing and administering Kirkpatrick 4 levels of evaluation (measuring reaction, learning, behavior, and results) including follow-up and reinforcement using the ADKAR change management model. Data on program effectiveness was collected, analyzed, and presented to the learners and stakeholders.
