A female superintendent reported that she was beaten by a police officer when she opposed copying at the examination center of a government senior secondary school in Amritsar. The Government Teachers’ Union has complained that the Education Department and the police department have not taken any action against the accused police officer.

Mr Daljit Singh, state president of the union told The Tribune the teachers brought the matter to the notice of the DEO, the DPI and police officials. But no action has been taken against the accused cop. He said the administration withdrew the security from these centres on pretext of the visit of the Prime Minister.
