A man accused of killing his wife has said that while under police custody, he was subjected to “third degree torture” and “inhuman treatment.”
Saudagar Singh is on trial for the murder of his wife, Harpreet Kaur, with the help of his servant, Deepak Kumar Bahadur. The prosecution claimed that he had confessed to hitting his wife and to his servant attacking her with a knife. Saudagar maintains that he made no confession and argued that the confession recorded in his name is inadmissable. He also reported that the police tortured him with electric shocks.
