1984 Perpetrators May Run on Congress Ticket

Even as the Nanavati Commission has issued notices against Congress leaders Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler, because evidence demonstrates they participated in the perpetration of the 1984 pogroms against the Sikhs, the Congress party is considering fielding these two people as candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections:

Former Outer Delhi Congress member of parliament Sajjan Kumar is likely to stake his claim for the party ticket from his old constituency, saying the courts have cleared him of alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

But he may not be fielded, yet again, keeping in mind Sikh voters across India.

Former central minister Jagdish Tytler is preparing to again contest from the Sadar constituency while former Lok Sabha member J.P. Aggarwal is asserting his right over the Chandni Chowk constituency.
