The Technical University of Munich* – Workers of the (University) World, Unite! – 15
I spoke with a so-called “supernumerary,” or “non-permanent” professor, one of those instructors who work from semester to semester, often without pay. This individual had brought in eighty percent of the outside funding at the university institute where he worked. Nevertheless, it just wasn’t possible, unfortunately, for the university to offer him a regular teaching position, even on a limited basis.

Ich sprach mit einem außerplanmäßigen Professor aus der Physik, der 80 Prozent der Drittmittel seines Instituts eingeworben hatte. Nur leider war es unmöglich, ihm auch nur eine befristete Stelle zu geben.
