A Revolutionary (for German Universities) Idea, but One Which Would Be Quite Superfluous at the Technical University of Munich – 16
“The lawyer for the students had to submit a statement to the Berlin data protection office by August 31, and now that office is deciding whether or not to have an injunction issued against the website. Violating that injunction would involve a fine of up to 250,000 euros (nearly $320,000). If the students do not want to close or alter the website, their only recourse is to the courts. Such an outcome would mean at least a temporary stop to an informal attempt to bring some transparency to the process of evaluating professors at German universities.”

Eine (an deutschen Universitäten) revolutionäre Idee, die aber an der Technischen Universität München völlig überflüssig wäre – 16
„Bis zum 31. August musste der Anwalt eine Stellungnahme einreichen, jetzt entscheidet der Datenschutzbeauftragte, ob er eine Unterlassungsverfügung erlassen will. Dann drohen bei Verstoß Bußgelder bis zu 250000 Euro. Wollen sich die Studenten nicht beugen, bleibt ihnen nur der Gang vor Gericht. Es wäre das vorläufige Ende eines etwas hemdsärmeligen Versuchs, endlich mehr Transparenz in die Evaluation zu bringen.“
