The Technical University of Munich* – “Dubious Doctorates and Professors in Disrepute” – 19
A Ph.D. that you simply purchase, or else an easy Ph.D. at a foreign university – this is what a “Ph.D. counselling service” offers, and there is a huge market. You are promised a quick route to a doctorate at “a university in the Czech Republic” with a four-day university residence requirement and “optimized online contact with your doctoral adviser.” That whole package is available at the bargain price of “26,500 euros” (just over 36,000 U.S. dollars at today’s exchange rate). Our team of journalists met with an employee of a “Ph.D. counselling service” and found that he had even more to offer – a doctorate without doing any academic work at all.
