Before a student from Germany can experience this richness, though, he or she has to run a kind of marathon of applications. Visa forms have to be meticulously filled out, and students have to make sure that the grades they receive in the United States will be recognized in Germany.

Bis ein deutscher Student diese Reichhaltigkeit aber erfahren kann, steht ihm ein Bewerbungsmarathon bevor: Visa-Formulare müssen penibel ausgefüllt werden und Studenten müssen darauf achten, dass ihre US-Noten auch in Deutschland angerechnet werden.
