The Technical University of Munich* – In the Shadow of the University – 8
Stadler: I’m glad that young people today are still able to meet individuals who witnessed what happened during the Nazi period and who can give us vivid descriptions of their experiences. Without that, you just couldn’t imagine, by yourself, a lot of what actually happened then. In our history books, the National Socialist period – the Nazi period – is treated in a pretty dry and emotionless way.

Die Technische Universität München* – Im Schatten der Universität – 8
Stadler: Ich bin froh darüber, dass junge Menschen heute noch Zeitzeugen begegnen können, die uns ihre Erlebnisse anschaulich erzählen. Ohne sie könnte man sich vieles gar nicht mehr vorstellen. In unseren Geschichtsbüchern wird die Zeit des Nationalsozialismus ziemlich emotionslos abgehandelt.
