“An Attack on German University Policy” – but at the Technical University of Munich? – 7
“The old, so-called ‘tradition universities’ in Germany – like Heidelberg – and the country’s technical universities are better funded and equipped by the state. They thus have a definite competitive advantage over other institutions when it comes to government financing and outside funding. This advantage increases exponentially with the ‘bonus mentality’ now rampant in our society. In other words, it is the ‘St. Matthew Principle’ that now determines research policy in Germany: ‘They who have shall receive’.”
