”Professor Sebastian Scheerer, criminologist: ‘These one-euro-jobs also offer people the possibility of dealing with the bad elements of the new social security laws in Germany. They can define the causes of what is bad in those laws and do something about it. We’ve actually had one-euro-workers who’ve drawn the right conclusions from their situation and then taken action.’
”Reporter: ‘But you’re not saying that the only reason you have them here is so that they can get together and protest?’
“Professor Sebastian Scheerer, criminologist: ‘No, but one function of their being here is to enable them to work against a process that isolates and de-politicizes them’.”

„Prof. Sebastian Scheerer, Kriminologe: ‚Es ist eine Möglichkeit, sich auch das Schlechte an Hartz IV klar zu machen und dann vielleicht auch gemeinsam die Ursachen dafür zu definieren und was dagegen zu machen. Nicht zuletzt haben wir ja auch Ein-Euro-Jobber hier gehabt, die die Konsequenz daraus gezogen haben, dagegen vorzugehen.’
Reporterin: ‚Aber sie sagen jetzt nicht, Sie haben sie nur hier, damit sie sich zusammenzufinden können und dagegen protestieren?’
