The Technical University of Munich Is Not a Terror School – 44
“Murat Kara says, ’Most of the other unemployed who were offered this job didn’t want it. In the school there are so many foreigners’ (i.e., pupils born in Germany but who, according to German citizenship laws, retain their parents’ nationality as Turks, Arabs, and so forth). He laughs. ‘I don’t have any problem with foreigners, though.’
“And then, more to himself than to anyone else, he adds, ‘If people who have learned something and acquired some skill, and who really belong to this society, if these people wind up on the streets – well, that hurts. A lot’.”
