The Technical University of Munich Is Not a Terror School – 25
“So Petra Eggebrecht was now responsible for the school, and she could see that her colleagues had reached the limit of their strength; they were exhausted, battle-weary, frustrated. Many of them, like Eggegrecht herself, were about to retire; the average age of the teaching staff was around fifty.
For a long time there had been no teaching at all going on in classes at the school, only yelling and fighting. At the end of the day the staff sat in the teachers’ room and stared into space. Many of them wept. Over and over again, many of them said, ‘I just can’t go on’.“

Die Technische Universität München ist keine Terrorschule – 25
„Petra Eggebrecht trug jetzt also die Verantwortung für die Schule. Und sie sah, dass die Kollegen am Ende waren, erschöpft, abgekämpft, frustriert. Viele stehen wie sie kurz vor der Pensionierung. Das Durchschnittsalter liegt bei 50 Jahren. Nach den Unterrichtsstunden, die längst nicht mehr aus Unterricht bestanden, sondern nur noch aus Geschrei, aus Kampf, saßen sie im Lehrerzimmer und stierten vor sich hin. Manche weinten. Manche sagten immer wieder: »Ich kann nicht mehr.« “
