Before and after, Part II
So, I had mentioned previously that hubby was going to start stripping wallpaper in the kitchen, just to do a quickie clean up as our goal is to gut the kitchen and have a major re-do next fall/winter.
Though there were layers and layers of wallpaper (of course), there is far less wall space in the kitchen than the living room/hallway so this was a much quicker project!
As you can see, the previous owners not only liked to layer their wallpaper, but they also liked to add borders… everywhere!
It looks a bit tidier now:
Our kitchen has an island. I always wanted an island in my kitchen! Before:
After:
This is where the Frosty likes to hide/sleep:
That’s a built in breadbox there. I hope I can get another when we remodel!
This shot is looking out the kitchen to the front door:
It was funny when we moved in because we didn’t realize until the first night that the glass in the half moon window is actually reflective glass or something. Apparently its to prevent people from being able to see in. The previous owner was a lawyer. The man across the street is a police officer. I’m not sure if those facts played any role in why a window, high above your front door, would require reflective glass, but…
So, that’s done for now. So, do you think that means I get a dust free house for awhile??? ‘Course not. Hubby’s already moved into the bathroom:

Can I borrow him? My husband and I are just not “do-it-yourself’ers” Honestly if we tackled these projects ourselves we’d not be married almost 28 years. So I have a house that needs painting and other projects…but we just leave it to save our marriage.

My goodness – you weren’t kidding about them liking borders around things…
All that wood looks really nice though; far too many white-walled empty rooms in the world. What sort of wood is it, do you know?
