Love that vacation stuff!
As usual, we had a wonderful vacation last week! The time we spent in Maine was so amazingly relaxing! We did a trolley tour of Portland which was lots of fun (okay, except for going over the Casco Bay Bridge). I didn’t realize how big Portland is and we already started discussing what we’re going to do next year! Three cheers to Kathy for letting us use her place!
We also got in two Sea Dogs games and President Bush (not “W”) and Barbara were there and he threw out the first pitch at the game Wednesday night. It was pretty exciting to have been so close to a President!
We got back late Saturday morning and I immediately went to the couch and caught a nap. Sorry but I’m just not used to the late night stuff. Yeah, I took another one in the afternoon but I think I finally got caught up!
Yesterday, we started staining our deck (it’s 12’x24′ so it’s going to take awhile). We’re actually using what they call a “toner” which is darker than a “clear” yet keeps the natural look – very nice! Another couple weeks and the landscaper will be there to tear out the side and back yard, grade and hydroseed – so exciting! I love this outdoor stuff!
Frosty and Shadow are continuing to get along wonderfully! I have to give a three cheers to Carol and her two youngest boys for taking such good care of them while we were gone. Not only did they go and feed them every morning but they would go back in the afternoon to play with them, too! Carol even admitted that she played the “chase the shadow” game with Frosty (so named prior to Shadow’s arrival!). I know how happy that made them because we didn’t even get a little bit of the cold shoulder from them when we returned!
So, that’s what I’ve been up to. How about you?

I really like Portland, the little that I’ve seen it and the trolley tour sounded delightful.
I’ve been doing the ‘summer thing’, which is basically an orbit of nearby playgrounds, beaches, ponds, pools and the like.
I’m glad you had a good vacation! How is the migration of blog to new server going? I will call you soon…
