Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

I’m not sure what to think of the latest terror attack warnings.

On the one hand, I’m particularly frightened by the possibility of an Election Day terror attack, something I’ve been thinking about for a few days. Whatever your political leanings or feelings about the Bush Administration, there’s no denying that Al Qaeda is really really angry with the US. There’s no denying that they’re going to try to strike again. They’ve done it before. They have every motivation to do it again. They have the capabilities, and they have a juicy timeframe.

On the other hand, it’s really hard to see any difference between what Tom Ridge actually said and this parody.

So, is the terror level Yellowest yet?

And when you consider that this could be setiing the ground work for the much-discussed “October Surprise,” there’s even more reason to be very afraid…glad my papers are in order…”May I see your passport, please?”
