about LDS bugtracker

This blog is where bugs and other issues pertaining to the LDS website (http://sciencedeomonstrations.fas.harvard.edu) can be reported and their status monitored.

While the main focus is on technical and / or content errors, please feel free to use this blog to post any ideas or comments about the LDS site.

Like all successful websites, the LDS site is continually evolving. In hopes of minimizing the growing pains, it may be useful to implement some sort of systematic method for dealing with maintenance. You are still free to notify using any method most convenient to you (i.e. email, phone, paper airplane), although reported issues should (in practice) wind up here eventually. Think of this site as analogous to the “Log Book” we keep in the Prep Room for demos.

In the past I have often used bulleted lists hand-written on stolen printer paper to keep track of maintenance tasks. As some issues get resolved and new ones emerge, the situation inevitably turns into a mess of scribbles; this electronic method is an attempt at a better practice.
