Nice touch: when an id card flashes on the screen, it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.online-literature.com\/orwell\/1984\/\">Winston Smith<\/a>&#8216;s.    Also, tying in to my earlier posts about Andrew Potter and Joseph Heath&#8217;s books &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2004\/10\/27#a1519\">The Rebel Sell<\/a> and the two posts on <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2004\/11\/24#a1595\">Nov. 24<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2004\/11\/22#a1585\">Nov. 22<\/a> that glanced at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chass.utoronto.ca\/~jheath\/rae.htm\">The Efficient Society<\/a> &#8212; I was struck by the narrator&#8217;s closing comments in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.letitblog.com\/epic\/\">EPIC<\/a>.  He notes that the end result depicted is &#8220;what we chose,&#8221; that it&#8217;s &#8220;our choice.&#8221;  He also notes that &#8220;commercial success pre-empted any discussion of democracy, journalism, and ethics.&#8221;  (quoted verbatim, not exactly).
