It rained throughout the day, and by evening the fog rolled in &#8211; those fog horns sure clinched that &#8220;summer is over&#8221; feeling.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"border: 2px solid white\" src=\"http:\/\/a1.zassets.com\/images\/z\/5\/4\/0\/540302-p-DETAILED.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"88\" height=\"88\" \/>So much for beach-side BBQs, hot dogs, t-shirt weather and heat, humidity, mosquito repellent, and running inside to get out of the way of hurricanes&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Instead, I pulled on a <em>winter<\/em> jacket to manage the afternoon toddle to Cook Street Village with my dog.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, given the crazy nature of climate these days, we might be in sandals again by the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>(Gawd, I sure hope so&#8230;)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We do things differently here on the Canadian We(s)t Coast than we did back East in New England, that&#8217;s for sure.
