After weeks of very mild temperatures and early blooms, we woke on Monday to a cold spell.<\/p>\n<p>The upside? Predicted rain didn&#8217;t materialize &#8211; instead we got cold, but bright, sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>Also on offer: a particular acuity through the late afternoon slanting light, a fullness in the colors, and some spectacularly showy cloud effects. Almost heartbreakingly beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>Walking my dog along Dallas Road, I tried capturing some of those effects with my little Casio pocket camera.<\/p>\n<p>(I should add that there were actually quite a few people about.
