{"id":1159,"date":"2009-03-29T20:50:17","date_gmt":"2009-03-30T00:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/?p=1159"},"modified":"2009-03-29T20:51:18","modified_gmt":"2009-03-30T03:51:18","slug":"checking-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2009\/03\/29\/checking-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Checking in"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m &#8220;neglecting&#8221; my blog lately (tho&#8217; I hate using that word, as it makes me sound like <em>neglect<\/em> is optional).<\/p>\n<p>(The give-away was that for a couple of weeks running, I don&#8217;t even have a Diigo linkroll update, except for <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2009\/03\/29\/the-sunday-diigo-links-post-weekly-23\/\">today&#8217;s single<\/a> entry&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, I blogged <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2009\/03\/08\/what-s-my-domain\/\">What&#8217;s my domain?<\/a>, where I wondered whether I should break away from the harvard.edu brand and stake out my own. So far, I have achieved no practical progress on that front, although I did secure my domain name. In the comments thread to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/yulelog\/2009\/03\/08\/what-s-my-domain\/\">my post<\/a>, Harvard&#8217;s Daniel Collis-Puro pointed out that I benefit from association with the Harvard brand. True, but I need to weigh benefits and negatives, which I haven&#8217;t done so far.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is this: I get caught up in different projects that require my attention, <strong>and<\/strong> I like to have plenty of time when I&#8217;m not &#8220;on.&#8221; In total, it means I&#8217;m not sure I could maintain the kind of daily and persistent output that all things &#8220;brand&#8221; require.
