According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifpi.org\/site-content\/press\/20041007.html\">IFPI\u2019s press release<\/a>, the music industry \u2013 roughly seven months after the <a href=\"http:\/\/cyber.law.harvard.edu\/media\/uploads\/72\/7\/breakingnews.htm\">first big wave<\/a> \u2013 takes for the first time actions against uploaders in Europe&#8217;s two largest music markets, the UK and France. Similar legal actions are being brought in Italy, Denmark, Germany, and \u2013 another premier \u2013 in Austria. Today\u2019s second wave brings the total number of cases \u2013 both criminal and civil suits \u2013  in Europe to more than 650.<br \/>\nSome of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifpi.org\/site-content\/press\/20041007.html\">details<\/a> are interesting: While the Italian Parliament recently enacted what has been considered to be the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/tech\/news\/techpolicy\/2004-05-28-italy-piracy-law_x.htm\">toughest law<\/a> against file-sharers worldwide, the industry today brought cases against 7 (seven) Italian uploaders \u2013 compared to 100 in Germany or 174 in Denmark.
