Here\u2019s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bundespraesident.admin.ch\/internet\/president\/fr\/home\/redint\/reden2005\/051116b.html\">link<\/a> to his much acclaimed speech. The most important part reads as follows:<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left: 40px\">\u201cParmi les individus encore interdits d\u2019acc\ufffds aux moyens d\u2019information, nombreux le sont pour des raisons politiques. Il n&#8217;est pas acceptable \u2013 et je le dis sans d\ufffdtours \u2013 que l\u2019Organisation des Nations Unies compte encore parmi ses membres des Etats qui emprisonnent des citoyens au seul motif qu\u2019elles ont critiqu\ufffd leur gouvernement ou leurs autorit\ufffds sur Internet ou dans la presse. Toute soci\ufffdt\ufffd du savoir respecte l\u2019ind\ufffdpendance de ses m\ufffddias comme elle respecte les droits de l\u2019homme.\u201d<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: italic\">Update<\/span>: Netzpolitik.org has a follow up on this issue and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.netzpolitik.org\/2005\/wsis-tunesisches-fernsehen-zensiert-schweizer-bundesprasidenten\/\">reports <\/a>about the ways in which the Tunesian TV censored Bundesrat Schmid.
