I, modern man, am a programmed module 2014, manufactured within the caged, limited analytical processes derived from sanctioned institutions of learning. The mass movement of trends dictate my thoughts. My actions are subject to the pre-programmed, commercialized, subliminal messages flashed before my mind one hundred times a day. I strive to preserve a system of living I do not fully comprehend, and slave to ensure my thinking aligns with the mandates and demands of said system. I am man, programmed into a system, caged by system demands, and imprisoned by my incapacitated mental faculties. Yet, I believe that I am in control of my destiny. I, man, am on a quest for knowledge. An exemplar of system success, I labor for the rewards bestowed upon me by the systems of men.

Who needs a Universal God?

I am also great, creating within my world-system all that I need. I build mountains of stone and steel, machines that fly, machines that swim, and I can genetically alter, create, and analyze the fabrics of life. I engineer food for consumption, recreate elemental conditions, save lives with my knowledge and technologies. My wisdom increases daily. I can freeze time in pixels, propel my crafts into the deeper universe, and have invented eyes that peer beyond my galaxy.

Was it not I who healed the sick with my invented medicines, and prescribed dosages? Did I not eradicate many diseases from the world stage? I biologically engineer viruses capable of annihilating mass populace. My rockets with tails of fire can be seen blazing across the skies on the battlefield. My inventions can circle the world, and I have harnessed the power of the atom. I possess the ability to destroy all of mankind, if I choose. Only if I choose.

Marvel at my magnificence with envy and reverence. Aren’t my accomplishments worthy of praise? I deserve to be respected. If, per se, there is a so called God of all Universe I believe my increasing knowledge will soon allow me to independently answer all nagging questions. I am a being armed with a self-ordained destiny. Science is a tool of discovery, and prayer is for the superstitious, a thing of the past.

I am a by-product of mortal intellect, logic, analytical reasoning—higher knowledge. I, man, can quote the ideologies of great philosophers who walked before me, and the complex calculations used to create the genius inventions of my world I have developed.

Who are you to suggest that I humble self before the Universe—a Universal God?

I believe in the sciences of man. The stone halls of worship, the ideology of my body being a temple, a tabernacle, pardon my bluntness I reject such antiquated concepts. Why pray and hope in something not seen—intangible? This level of thinking is a tradition of old. Modern man embodies the power within self to create technologies that devise answers—science is god.

Let me remind other men, those who cling to the ancient fabric and illusion of a Universal God. I dictate the climate of the nations, the movement of currencies, the manufacturing of products, and the distribution of food. The power to rule the world is in my hands. I am modern, successful, powerful, and proud. You may, if you wish, bestow upon me the title of demigod.

***

The non-believers (the onlookers) then asked, “Where is Nietzsche?”

Believers at the Alter of Nietzsche Please Stand “God Is Dead” Let Us Give Thanks to Self for We are Magnificent and Creators of Our World! I am a by-product of a capitalist, consumer-driven, pseudo-democratic society.
