{"id":92,"date":"2005-07-19T00:23:16","date_gmt":"2005-07-19T04:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2005\/07\/19\/a-series-of-random-updates\/"},"modified":"2006-04-28T11:49:40","modified_gmt":"2006-04-28T18:49:40","slug":"a-series-of-random-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2005\/07\/19\/a-series-of-random-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"A Series of Random Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a name=\"a240\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This weekend I . . .<\/p>\n<p>Hung out with a friend visiting from New York.\u00a0 Apparently MB, the aforementioned friend,\u00a0feels slightly slighted that I&#8217;ve never posted about her or our\u00a0enduring, inspirational,\u00a0movie-worthy friendship (happy MB?), so I&#8217;m making it a point to do so now.\u00a0 We spent a good deal of the weekend lounging around my apartment and\u00a0napping, getting up only to find another surface to nap upon, while my Roommate (another friend from law school) cleaned and did various other productive-type things.\u00a0 This was reminiscent of law school itself, where I spent the better part of three years napping.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Drove to Venice,\u00a0searched endlessly for\u00a0parking, wept at the utter futility of it all, gave up and went home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Inadvertantly\u00a0ended up amidst\u00a0a late night\u00a0freeway drag race.\u00a0 Because it&#8217;s California and stuff like that happens.<\/p>\n<p>Met some new people and finally\u00a0visited The Underground (the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.followthefrog.blogspot.com\">Frog<\/a>&#8216;s favorite bar in Long Beach).\u00a0 I had\u00a0a lot of fun, despite the fact that the eighty-year old woman who&#8217;s taken over my body recently demanded that\u00a0I leave fairly early on in the night.\u00a0 She was not happy to have been kept up past her bedtime.<\/p>\n<p>Read the latest Harry Potter book.\u00a0 Yeah, because I&#8217;m just not nerdy enough.\u00a0 It was good, but upon completion necessitated an immediate phone call to my equally nerdy little sister so we could both bawl together.<\/p>\n<p>Bought a boatload of new songs for Apple the ipod.\u00a0 I&#8217;m not going to share which ones because you might stop being my friends if you knew my appalling taste in music (or lack thereof).<\/p>\n<p>Got a little bit fatter.\u00a0 For the millionth weekend in a row, I did not make it to the gym again.\u00a0 And I&#8217;m supposed to start training for the LA marathon next Saturday.\u00a0 Hey.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t snicker.<\/p>\n<p>Worked.\u00a0 A lot.<\/p>\n<p>Decided I&#8217;m going to write a romance novel.\u00a0 Because, really, how awesome would it be to tell people that&#8217;s what\u00a0you do for a living?\u00a0 &#8220;Oh me?\u00a0 Well, I used to be a corporate lawyer specializing in real estate litigation, but now I write romance novels.\u00a0 What do you do?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This weekend I . . .
