{"id":806,"date":"2009-09-21T15:42:01","date_gmt":"2009-09-21T22:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/?p=806"},"modified":"2009-09-22T11:02:32","modified_gmt":"2009-09-22T18:02:32","slug":"one-year-later","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2009\/09\/21\/one-year-later\/","title":{"rendered":"One Year Later&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We capped off a wonderful year of marriage with a wonderful weekend in San Diego.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0We decided to celebrate our anniversary the same way we started our marriage &#8211; surrounded by friends &#8211; so\u00a0 T and I drove down to SD\u00a0on Saturday to meet up with one of my best friends, J, and her boyfriend, K,\u00a0who were flying in from San Jose.\u00a0\u00a0 Actually, we kind of hijacked their planned trip and turned it into our one year anniversary celebration.\u00a0 =)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0T and I exchanged gifts on Friday, before heading out\u00a0to SD.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;d\u00a0been adamant that I didn&#8217;t want to exchange gifts (my family&#8217;s never been much into the gift exchanges and I couldn&#8217;t think of anything to get).\u00a0 However, at the last minute, I\u00a0thought it&#8217;d be cute to\u00a0make T a coupon book, with coupons in it for things like\u00a0home-cooked meals and my attendance at sports events.\u00a0Good thing I\u00a0thought to do something\u00a0since T, as usual, managed to surprise me with a romantic candle-lite dinner when I got home from work on Friday!\u00a0 It was perfect, and\u00a0harkened back to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2007\/07\/31\/big-news\/\" target=\"_blank\">his proposal<\/a>.\u00a0 Best. Husband.\u00a0Ever.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, we headed down to San Diego and spent\u00a0most of\u00a0the day at the San Diego Zoo, which I loved.\u00a0 Zoos usually make me a little sad, but the SD Zoo is pretty spacious and the animals didn&#8217;t look at miserable at they do at other zoos.\u00a0 Saturday night, we met up with J and K for dinner at Joe&#8217;s Crab Shack and then went out for a fun night on the town.\u00a0 J and K surprised us with a lovely bottle of champagn to celebrate our anniversary.\u00a0 Best. Friends.
