{"id":795,"date":"2009-09-09T11:26:41","date_gmt":"2009-09-09T18:26:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/?p=795"},"modified":"2009-09-09T15:30:40","modified_gmt":"2009-09-09T22:30:40","slug":"labor-day-weekend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.blogs.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/2009\/09\/09\/labor-day-weekend\/","title":{"rendered":"Labor Day Weekend &#8217;09"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had such a lovely Labor Day weekend.\u00a0 Although we&#8217;d originally planned to visit my family in San Jose over the three day weekend &#8211; seriously, every phone call home starts with &#8220;When are you coming to visit?&#8221; nowadays\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0T had to work on Monday so we decided to stay in LA.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The weekend started off with a good (albeit hot) 8 mile run with the Leggers\u00a0on Saturday.\u00a0 I&#8217;m really enjoying the challenge of running with a faster pace group.\u00a0 Then T and I\u00a0headed downtown to grab lunch at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/kendalls-brasserie-los-angeles\" target=\"_blank\">Kendall&#8217;s<\/a> (we made the mistake of getting their french onion soup &#8211; ick) before seeing\u00a0a matinee showing of the musical <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montypythonsspamalot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Spamalot<\/a>.\u00a0 I had been wanting to see it\u00a0for ages and really enjoyed it, especially since we got $20 tickets the day of the showing instead of purchasing $90 tickets beforehand.\u00a0 T, however,\u00a0was a little disappointed because he remembered the source material much better than I did and felt the musical was too repetitive.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, we went to a beach party in Long Beach.\u00a0 The weather was perfect, sunny but not too hot.\u00a0 The party\u00a0was on the peninsula,\u00a0in a protected enclave facing the bay.\u00a0 The water was warm(ish) and peaceful.\u00a0 We brought our canopy and beach chairs and enoyed the day with good food and friends.\u00a0 It was relaxing.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday night we met up\u00a0with some other\u00a0friends at a houseparty, where we continued to stuff ourselves silly.\u00a0 Fortunately, on Monday, T and I headed to the gym after work and ran off some of the food we&#8217;d eaten!<\/p>\n<p>And on a totally random note, I started using body butter daily years ago, after my littlest sis L pointed out that my skin resembled that of an alligator&#8217;s, and have recently\u00a0discovered a new body butter which I love.\u00a0 It&#8217;s cheaper than the body butter I usually get from\u00a0The Body Shop, it&#8217;s thick and\u00a0creamy, doesn&#8217;t feel greasy\u00a0and smells great.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bathandbodyworks.com\/product\/index.jsp?productId=3179491&amp;cp=2484525.3256889.3256895\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-797  aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.law.harvard.edu\/sweetpea\/files\/2009\/09\/pBBW1-4966252v1941.jpg\" alt=\"pBBW1-4966252v194\" width=\"194\" height=\"261\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had such a lovely Labor Day weekend.\u00a0 Although we&#8217;d originally planned to visit my family in San Jose over the three day weekend &#8211;
